Tips to Drive Traffic to Your Blog

Good day friends. I hope you enjoyed reading my previous posts and that, you may already have created your first blog from the step by step guide that I have posted before this one. You might ask what to do next with our blog? In what way can we make money online?
Talking of monetizing our blog, it's not yet the right time. We still have a long way to go. How can we make money from our blog when we still don't have visitors to our blog? We still don't have the so called traffic? Readership? That no one even know that we have this kind of blog. Of course, one thing we must do before monetizing our blog is that, we must first establish good traffic to our blog, a good and friendly readership community that will frequently visit our blog.

I have been researching the past few days on how to drive traffic in our blog and let me share what I have learned from this research. Let us first establish or drive traffic to our blog before we think of monetizing it. Here are few tips I have learned on how to drive traffic to our blog or site:

1. Keep on writing fresh contents for your blog. Always update your blog by providing fresh, useful, and relevant contents. Don't let your visitors get disappointed doing nothing at your not so updated blog. Regular posting of fresh article contents keeps your loyal visitors coming back for more.

2. Maximize the use of RSS. Submit your RSS feeds to directories by doing a quick search in Google for rss directories. This can help your blog because search engines read rss feeds. There are many forums you can ask for help if you do not understand the rss feed process.

3. Submit your blog to blog directories. Many blog directories were having PR 3, 4, 5, and 6, so why you wouldn't want to be listed in? Having PR 3, 4, 5, and 6 have the greater chances to be crawled by the search engines than any other ordinary blog. So having your blog listed in these directories means that your blog has a link into these sites and the chances that your blog be crawled by the search engines and giving you traffic.

4. Read and comment on other people's blogs. Visit on other people's blog and read contents/posts relevant to the topic of your blog. Try to understand the article you are reading on other peoples blog and leave or post a comment which you think meaningful and shows some thoughts, this will create a back-link to your site.

5. Write articles to online submission directories. Write an article relevant to your blog's topic and publish it to online article submission directories like ezinearticles.com. Providing a good and attention grabbing title for your article for submission and things you think useful and informative. Include  a link in your submission pointing back to your site so that people can read more of your other writings.

6. Forum participation. This is one of the best ways to get free traffic to your blog, according to expert webmasters. You are normally allowed to place links in signature in forum participation. In some forums, you can also place your blog feed near your user name wherein your recent blog post title is shown linked to the post. This is one way to attract visitors and drives in good traffic.

7. Submit your blog to social bookmarking sites. Like in the process of submitting articles to online article submission directories, submitting your blog to social bookmarking sites also drives in good traffic to your blog. The same thing the search engines worked for your article submitted to online article submission directories.

8. Social networking. This is also one of the best ways to drive in traffic to your site. Join in some social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut, Myspace, Twitter etc. Having a profile in each social networking sites lets you have the chance to leave your blog URL. You have to participate/join in discussions in topics relevant to your niche.

9. Guest blogging. There are lots of blogs out there that accepts guest posting from bloggers. Choose blogs with a good reputation and a good ranking in search engine for you to submit your written relevant article. This is a good start point for your blog. Once your article or post is published, this would then send a number of traffic to your site. Be sure to leave a link pointing to your site every time you are doing guest posts.

10. Linking to other blogs. This would send trackbacks by linking to other blogs and then getting traffic from their blogs. This not only helps you to drive traffic to your site but also promotes good relationship between bloggers of the blogosphere.
